The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is the UK’s largest organisation for funding research on economic and social issues. We support independent, high quality social science research which has an impact on business, the public sector and civil society.

We direct funding to research, resources and training that make the most difference to people’s lives. We help to tackle the biggest challenges facing society through a combination of partnerships, new ways of funding research and involvement with some of the world’s most ambitious research programmes.
