The NORFACE Network, in cooperation with the CHANSE Programme, will host an international conference in Paris, bringing together projects funded under the “Enhancing Well-Being for the Future” Call. Launched in 2023, the Call supported research on well-being with strong societal relevance and the potential to make a substantial impact on people’s lives
The conference will showcase ten top-tier research projects in social sciences featured in the CHANSE catalogue and funded through the highly competitive NORFACE-CHANSE Call for proposals.
This event aims to help prepare the midterm activity reports of the projects and to give opportunities to researchers, funders and policy makers to meet, gain new insights and find inspiration for current and future research in social and behavioural sciences on well-being.

> Participation upon invitation
The conference includes the following keynote speaker: Dr Rutger Hoekstra from Leiden University
Researchers will present their projects in three expert-chaired sessions. The presentations will be followed by a cross-project discussion moderated by the session chairs, who have a large experience as project leaders with relevant expertise. The research funded under the Call addresses a broad range of topics, such as well-being and new technologies, government policies and their impact on well-being, social well-being and mental health from a variety of approaches and disciplines. It enables and encourages multi-disciplinarity and provides opportunities for pan-European research integrating researchers from different regions of Europe, and for comparisons across various contexts and over-time.
In addition to the sessions, a policy roundtable will be held with researchers and policy makers on “improving mental health and well-being of young citizens in Europe: challenges and opportunities”
A networking session on research ethics, participatory methods and innovative methodologies will enable to discuss the various issues that researchers may face and innovative solutions they may find during the implementation of their projects.
“Enhancing Well-Being for the Future” is one out of eight calls for transnational research projects within NORFACE implemented in collaboration with the CHANSE Programme.
